The Barber Quarter takes it’s name from the designer Charles E. Barber. The series was preceded by the lengthy Seated Liberty Quarter minted from 1838 to 1891 and followed by the shorter Standing Liberty Quarter minted from 1917 to 1930. Falling in the middle of these two series, the Barber Quarter was sometimes overlooked, but has gained some popularity with collectors in recent years.
